I do biomed at warwick, the course isnt very flexible (2 options 1st year and 1 option second year), the lecturers arent great honestly and dont seem to give af. There's only a couple essays first year, a couple second year and more in 3rd year (depends on modules). Student life is quiet, warwick isnt near major cities (except brum) so the night life isnt crazy. Accom after 1st year is pretty chill, cheap and expensive options mostly in lem

Hi I’m currently a neuroscience student at Warwick who has just finished my placement year so will be in my final year this September. The course itself is actually quite flexible with a range of optional modules you can take which may be suited to your best interest. There are frequent lab practicals and lab reports in all three years of the course and these usually last between the September-Jan period. The lectures are actually quite interesting but obviously some more than others. I tend to find neurobiology and neurobiology of disease modules more appealing rather than the molecular cell biology module. In first year you pretty much have most lectures with other biomed, bio science or stem students with maybe 2 modules specifically with neuroscience students. Then in year two it’s obviously more tailored to neuroscience but there still are a lot of similarities. In terms of essays you will get Christmas and Easter essays in year 1 as well as some other essays for practice in year 2 but not that many. There are essays in most of the exams in year 2 besides the molecular biology exam being data based in section 2 of the paper. I have heard from other students in their final year that the workload does get really heavy in final year and students may have 6/7 essays to submit close together but it depends on the modules you choose.
As for student life and accommodation I can’t really say much due to the fact that I commute to uni and don’t really drink or party so I can’t vouch for the night life. I’m aware there are loads of circling events though so just as long as you’re in a few societies I’m sure you’ll be able to enjoy it!

Heyy, hope you are well. I’ve just started neuroscience this year. Do you have any tips on how to manage notes so when exam season comes along I am well prepared?

Also I saw online that some people recommend making lecture notes off older years’ notes, because there are some topics I’m finding a bit hard to grasp. Is this something you did? If so would you mind sharing your notes? Would really appreciate it!

Thanks for reading this!
