EPQ help

I am really struggling coping with the workload of EPQ ontop of three essay subjects and mocks coming up. My supervisor isn't very useful and I have only met with her once in six months, and the teacher who runs the sessions isn't particularly helpful either. I am unsure on what the structure or techniques of writing the project are, and it's my schools first year doing it so there arent many examples. Does anyone have any tips or can you offer any help.

Heya ! I got 47/50 on my EPQ!
Where are you with your research? If you have not done anything yet don't worry.
Just sit with yourself and think about what it is you want to talk about, as in what are your initial hypotheses about how to answer your question.
Then do some research and get a broad understanding of subject/possible controversies. Keep track of websites you are using using a referencing tool (don't forget to download it when you are done just in case it disappears/or create an account)
Then try thinking about how your hypothesis was flawed. Then, try structuring an essay (just the structure) I recommend watching the following video

Then, go to your project Q and try filling some of the boxes, my teachers provide us with questions to answer in each section. REMEMBER THIS IS WHERE MOST MARKS ARE, NOT THE ESSAY.
Try to be as exhaustive/waffly as possible and whilst filling them, I really recommend looking at the markscheme (see videos) and asking yourself, how can I tick the maximum number of boxes/get the max number of points from this thing I did.
For example, I recorded all the hours I worked, I had a risk assessment (was really sh*t but it's just to tick marks), I changed my mind 10000 times about stuff, I contrasted different referencing styles with advantages and disadvantages (they love when you show decision making) etc.

This is the perfect resource to structure your essay to get max marks/reference etc... I used google sheets to make sections for my essay in one column and write the body text in next column to make sure my structure was logic.

For the markscheme, I recommend looking at these videos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pADI5NjAisY so that you know how it is marked https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nDLSxjBa6dQ

I also used google sheets to evaluate the reliability of my sources, ie, use a CRAPP test (give a score) and then only use the ones that have a good score (decision making again)

This is a good overview source

(kinda replacing a teacher / dw epq teachers are usually not very helpful because the project is supposed to be independent)

For time management I had quite a lot of time (so I only worked when I wanted to- ie was motivated) and I got massively stressed towards the end because I hadn't finished my essay (because I spent a lot of time on research whilst writing my essay/ which I hadn't planned for because I thought initial research was enough)

you can ask me more clarifications if needed, EPQ is hard but you got this!

Hey got a perfect score for AQA EPQ last year and ngl kinda worrying that you only met your supervisor once. Wilderose's tips are simply excellent and I think we could both sufficiently help you. But first, at what stage is your production log at?
