Oxford entry requirements?

Biology degree:

Currently doing
A LEVEL Bio
A LEVEL history
AS 3-D design ( will extend to A LEVEL )
BIOLOGY EPQ

however Oxford wants another science to do a Biology degree. I don’t want to be stuck at college for 4 years so will Oxford accept an AS in my other required science, eg AS CHEM or AS PHYSICS? I would undertake this in my third year.

Any help is greatly appreciated, and any ideas as to fastrack an a level or an equivalent if they won’t accept. I want to go somewhere academic such as Oxford but feel upset I didn’t make a fitting choice of A Levels last year.

They will only accept the full A level. In addition, they'll want you to have taken all your A levels at the same time unless you have a really good excuse as to why you couldn't.

Hey! I applied for bio last year, and what I will say is you're correct - oxford and most other "academic" unis ask you to have bio and another science/maths. If you're really set on bio what you could do is study an a level outside of your current studies privately - this would be a lot of work and potentially money - but could get you to where you want to go. However, there are also plenty of amazing unis that perhaps aren't as "academic" as you would like - but still provide a great education - and you wouldn't have to do four years. I'm sorry that you've ended up in this situation and I hope it works out.
