My parents have been unable to input their financial information as I spelt my dad's name wrong, and so the names on the accounts don't match.

On the sfe website it says to change a parents details you have to send a letter to sfe explaining why - is this really thr only way to do this or is there a quicker way

Would it be easier to just cancel the application and reapply? It looks like you should only do that if you have made the wrong sort of application, but I'm not sure if that's a rule or just a suggestion

This has been problem on the SFE system this year. Don't cancel your application. Download form PFF2 and get your parents to complete it and then upload it to YOUR account.
