Study spaces at Bath uni

Hi, I think I’ve heard that there isn’t much study space at Bath / the library isn’t very big? But I can’t remember what was said. Could anyone share their experiences please?

Hi there,

While it does get very busy in our study spaces during exam periods, there are still plenty of spaces ranging from communal, quiet, bookings etc. There are spaces both on campus and off campus as we have 2 additional buildings in the city The Virgil building and Dartmouth avenue building.

The library provides a range of flexible learning spaces with over 1400 study spaces, over 500 PCs and all study spaces have access to power and wireless access throughout the building. The library is definitely a great place to go during the year but I agree that it does get very busy during exam periods but this is normal across all Universities. In addition, it’s not the point where you really cant find anywhere to study as there are loads of other spaces on campus which can be found here: https://www.bath.ac.uk/campaigns/where-you-can-study-on-campus-and-in-the-city/ . I would also recommend booking study spaces If you would like to study with a large group or prefer and individual study room.

Overall, I have not had an issue finding spaces to study throughout, you just have to make sure you get there a bit earlier or boo in advance during exam periods.

Hope this helps,

Sharon (3rd year student)

Hi,

The library does get really busy during exam periods but is generally fine outside of then, and there are other study space on campus like East Building, Management Building etc, so there's generally always somewhere to go even during busy exam periods - I've never not been able to find somewhere. Plus there are study spaces in the city. The library is also a fair size imo, there's about 5 floors I think? And it's open 24 hours a day
