a-level options to become paramedic?

hi, my dream is to become a paramedic and i was wondering which a levels to choose. i was thinking of medical science btec, chem and psychology. i know biology a level is much more respected by unis but i struggle with the plant side of it so i thought medical science btec would be better as it’s the human side of biology, what do you think?

Hey, :wavey:

Picking your a levels can be important depending on what you would like to pursue in the future.

As you want to be a paramedic i would suggest checking out the websites for some universities that you may be interested in to see what their entry requirements are. This should help your decision.

For example, the a level entry requirements for Paramedic Science at Canterbury Christ Church University is BBC. We do not state that you have had to study a science a level to apply for this course. Feel free to check out our course webpage to find out more about our entry requirements and what it means: https://www.canterbury.ac.uk/study-here/courses/paramedic-science#courseEntryRequirements

We would suggest you pick your a level or btec on what you enjoy and succeed at as typically you will achieve great grades. However, studying a science a level or btec will be useful as you will learn some basics before you study your degree.

We hope this helps and good luck in picking the right subjects for you.

You need to look at the 'entry requirements' on the course pages at a range of different Universities - and you will need relevant work experience. If you dont have any, then look at volunteering or working at a Care Home over the summer. You will also need a full driving licence, again you have the summer to do something about this if necessary.
