What happens if I perform badly in Year 12 Mocks?

I'm currently studying geography, politics and business and was hoping to apply to a couple of russel group universities to study geography. Out of all 3 of my alevels I take, geography is my strongest, I consistently get As and A*s in topic tests in both sections and perform well in class, however, the mocks that I just had recently have been very hard, im afraid I have done badly and will get an B. Obviously a B isnt bad but i really wanted an A and have been getting good in class, same for poltiics. So what I'm trying to ask is, usually do most teachers predict a grade higher even if you don't do as well as expected. I'm so dissapointed 😭

Y12 exams are there for practice and just used to see what you could get in your real exams. Depending on if you have more mocks in Y13 before you submit your UCAS and also how you perform in class, your teachers may very well predict a grade higher if they see the potential of you getting higher grades. They have to evidence their prediction and those arent just based on mock exams alone, they will assess it based on you as well. Just keep showing your work ethic to them and show them you are aiming high.

Your predicted grades aren’t solely based off one exam. They are based off class work, homework, behaviour and any extra-curricular in relation to the subject

if you’ve been getting As and A*s consistently but got one B i’m sure your teacher would be fine to predict you an A or A*

You can just ask your teachers to up predicted if they aren’t what you want, I know plenty who did It

i'm in y13 and throughout y12 and in my y12 mocks i got a b in geography (i was always one mark off an a), and i was also predicted a b. i was really disappointed because i thought it would affect my chance of getting offers (especially bc i applied to geography bsc 😭) and literally begged my teachers to move it up but they simply wouldn't. but with my predicted grades of a*ab i still managed to get 5/5 of my offers and 4/5 were russel group unis (ucl, kings, brum, notts). if you've achieved a*s and as throughout the year there's a high chance that you'll be predicted at least an a. and even if you do get predicted a b i'm sure everything will work out!
