Repaying an overpayment with SFE?

Hello.
In 2021, I began paying back an overpayment that I had received for a course I wasn't attending. I set up a direct debit with SFE to repay this once a month. In September of 2022, I started a new course. A large chunk of my maintenance loan was taken in order to repay this overpayment. However, I'm still having money taken from my account over a year later when I believe I have repaid this overpayment. How do I rectify this?

Did you set up a payment plan or direct debit and had you cancelled this? Thanks, Jason

I have not cancelled the direct debit because they person who set up my direct debit told me it would cancel automatically. I owed around £3100, but that amount was taken off maintenance loan in 2022/2023. I've still been paying the monthly direct debit since I started it in Jan 2022.
