Siblings affecting student finance

Hello,

There is information online (https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/student-finance-how-youre-assessed-and-paid/student-finance-how-youre-assessed-and-paid-2024-to-2025#assessing-how-much-student-finance-you-can-get) that contains some information about how siblings may impact student finance (regarding taking off an allowance of £1,130 for any child other than a student who is totally or mainly financially dependent on parents).

Is this the same if the other sibling is also at university? There are sections that mention this but not under, '4.8 Dependent students starting a full-time course on or after 1 August 2016'.

Hi there,

Yes. If more than one sibling are attending university at the same time and applied for the funding then we do a disregard of £1,130 for their funding. Thanks, Jason
Thanks.
