How Long does DSA application take

I applied to DSA too week ago, and put all my evidence which is a form from a specistlist that I got last Year for my Dyslexia. Now I'm currenly waiting for an email from DSA, I was wondering How long does it Normally take? And on my Student Fiance Uk account on my Too-do-list it has Claim expenses for your Disabled Students' Allowance support, which I am very confused about as does it mean I have been approved for a DSA

Hi,

The application process really depends on how many applications DSA are currently going through.

The application process can take up to 14 weeks.

Once DSA have received and reviewed your application they will send you a needs assessment appointment which is to see what support you need in place to able to study. This can be them providing printers, recording devices etc .

This is a really good website that describes the DSA application process in a easy but detailed way to understand

I hope this helps!

Funny thing is after I posted this question I got an email from dsa. And I'm eligible for dsa and also booked my appointment for my study needs assessment next week 😅

It took me 6 weeks from first submitting an application to having the approval for the equipment, then another 3 weeks to get equipment once approved from the suppliers.

That's really good that they got back to you super quickly! They can sometimes take ages to get back to people if there's a long backlog of applications 🙂

I hope your needs assessment goes well!
