Prom got cancelled :(

hi guys, so basically my school cancelled the year 13 prom because there was not enough people paying for it. i feel kinda disappointed, i mean its not really anything deep its just kind of a shame. i didnt go to prom in year 11 and i was excited about it in year 13, but now that it isnt happening i feel abit i dunno... like im missing out. really and truly, i probably wouldnt have enjoyed it much - i dont like wearing suits and im not the biggest fan of the music thats gonna be playing (mostly just drill and afrobeats), mostly like just gonna be me and my friend just there but its just a thing that to me fully cements the end of sixth form or i suppose "high school" as like a final goodbye. im probably overstressing it but i dont know. i just feel that fomo already kicking in

If you’re going to university, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to dress up at formal events, and this may follow you throughout your career (depending on what sector you’re going into). Prom is overrated so I wouldn’t worry about it too much. There’ll be other chances for you to attend formal events throughout your life.
