Student finance spouse visa

Hi there,
I have been in the UK for 3 1/2 years on a spouse/partner visa. I am applying for leave to remain in 1 1/2 years. Before living in the UK, I lived in Thailand as a Thai citizen, I have never lived in the EU. Do I qualify for student finance, tuition fee loan, because I have lived in the UK for the previous three years. I want to study a master's program at a university.

Hi Mayhew19,

If you are a Rest of the World national you would usually need to have Indefinite Leave to Remain to be eligible for funding.

Is your partner a UK national?

Hi there,

No they are not a UK national. They were born in Thailand and they are a Thai citizen.

In that case you would need to hold Indefinite Leave to Remain as a Rest of the World national to be eligible for SFE funding.
