Student Finance for an extra year

Hello Everyone,

I am a disabled student in my final year of the NHS course, due to ill health I am unable to finish my dissertation in my final year. After meeting with the tutor he managed the dissertation module in the next year's autumn semester. I will attend the university next year for three months (Sep to Dec).

1. Will I get the maintenance loan and childcare grant for the next year?
2. Will the maintenance loan be for 3 months or a year long?

If someone has any experience, please advise

Regards,

Hi hashmat12

Thanks, you will continue to receive the maintenance loan and grants next year. The maintenance loan will be awarded pro rata based on your time in attendance so will be for 3 months rather than a full year.

Thanks,
Calum

Hello Calum,

Thank you, Calum, One more question. As my course expected finish date is 30th May, and my childcare grants are up to the 30th May, will it continue in my case up to the end of the course Dec 2024? or will it be pro-rota base?

Hi hashmat12,

The Childcare Grant can only be awarded for when you are in attendance also

Thanks,
Calum
