radiography entry requirements

I'm currently in year 12, doing btec diploma in health and social care and btec extended certificate in applied science. I originally wanted to study children's nursing but I'm now interested in diagnostic radiography (in City uni and Southbank uni). I'm worried that I won't be able to get into both because they say they don't accept health and social and that they only accept the extended diploma of applied science. is there a possibility that they could accept me?

Hi, city actually does a foundation year called Introduction to health sciences https://www.city.ac.uk/prospective-students/courses/foundation/introduction-to-health-sciences , this course is for students who want to apply for health courses but dont have the entry requirements like (subject or grade) i was once in your position im currently in year 13 now, this course took a long time for me to find in year 12, you can apply to this foundation year and after completion you'll be able to do diagnostic radiography once youve passed the interview. Hope this helps

Hi @megamind1 ,

Glad to see that you are considering LSBU. When looking at BSc (Hons) Diagnosis Radiology. Our entry requirements can be seen here: https://www.lsbu.ac.uk/study/course-finder/bsc-hons-diagnostic-radiography#entry-requirements

Apologies for taking awhile to get back to you, I just wanted to clarify with the admission offer whether your course would be acceptable on our course.
I have confirmation that you can apply for the BSc (Hons) Diagnosis Radiology. As long as your HSC BTEC is level 3 and hold 120 UCAS points (DDD) and you meet the other requirements, (5 GCSEs including maths and English etc)

Similar to City, we do have a foundation year course that would accept you with the health and social care BTEC.

More information about the course can be seen here: https://www.lsbu.ac.uk/study/course-finder/hscfoundationyear#entry-requirements

Hope I mange to help and clarify.

Best wishes

Email each of the admissions departments and ask if it would be worth applying with your qualifications - don't forget St George's too. If they don't, then you could consider a foundation year or take a year out and complete an Acces to HE Diploma. The latter will be a cheaper option than a foundation year.
