17 and 13

my friend (17) is dating a girl who she fell in love with and this girl said she was 17 as well.. 2 months later the girl tells her she’s not actually 17 she’s 13.. what can i do to help? she tells me she’s in love and hurt but the love can’t go away after all the memories she made with her before she find out she lied

Well, it's not ILLEGAL (unless they have sex). If they truly love each other then it's completely fine. I'd just advise her to be careful with sex because that could get very iffy if they break up and she wants to get revenge for whatever reason. Love is love and there's not really much you can do to stop it. Maybe tell her to look past the fact that she lied, but to set some boundaries for sex?

a 13 year old is mentally so much younger than a 17 year old, a 13 year old is still a child and a 17 year old is mentally and physically an adult. while it's not illegal, it's certainly morally questionable. and when ur friend is 18, it's even worse.
also lying is gonna cause distrust in the relationship, so it can't last.

tell you're friend that they need to get a grip and block them bc thats weird. "its love" yeah thats what everyone says - doesn't make it any less weirder or more okay. I'm 18 now, i can't even feel like im having a truthful convo with a 13yr old - the ages just don't match up. I get that its only 4 years but having an age gap of 4 years in your teens is more weirder than having a 4 year age gap when you're . Its weird how the friend didn't lose attraction after finding out the person lied abt who they were too.
What i would do is tell her that all the memories she made where a lie - she lied abt her age so they probably lied about way more too. Tell her than theres more people out there that they'll find. And finally, tell them that they are being weird - tell them about how its weird power dynamics and different levels of maturity. If they truly loved them, they would recognize the influence they might have on them and end the relationship in order to keep them and the 13 year old safe

I totally disgaree with your statement , quote, "a 17 year old is mentally and physically an adult." You are making soooooo many assumptions that the person of 17 is of the norm, and personally there is no way on this Planet that a 17 year old anyway is "mentally and physically" an adult. They are just starting out towards adulthood, NOT actually really, at least Mentally and probably physically, "an adult" ,really. That said the law is the law and it would not look favourably on sex between 17yr old and 13 yr old.
