sqa exam help. higher french higher admin

i've been writing multiple answers for example, if a question is worth 5 marks and i write 7 things to be safe.

i've been doing this for higher admin and higher french and english.

is this okay? will i still be awarded the marks? or does the marker just ignore the extra answers
Usually for essay based subjects and languages they mark positively, so additional correct points that you make will get you more marks in a question.

However for scientific subjects like maths and physics they mark negatively, meaning they will deduct marks if you make incorrect points or write anything blatantly wrong - even if you have ten correct points written for that question!
