Pls help- sheffield or southampton uni

Going to be doing psychology in 2025, no idea whether to pick southampton or sheffield uni. both courses are good and roughly the same (i think) and entry requirements are the same. got many pros and cons for both, eg weather is southampton is much nicer (kinda a biggie for me haha), sheffield social/night life seems much better etc but not sure which one to choose. if anyone has any insights or has gone to either uni for psychology or any subject pls lmk about ur experience there and if you’d recommend it because i’m lost and only got a week or two left to choose which one for my firm choice. Thanks!! (posting this to a few different forums too)

hey I am currently studying psychology and uni of Sheffield and I love it! I was also between Southampton and Sheffield for my firm choice last year funny enough. have you visited either of the universities? I obviously ended up choosing Sheffield and do not regret it. for me the pros to Sheffield was the student life, the student union (which is number 1 in uk) is amazing and even though its further up north its and maybe slightly worse weather; it is near the peaks and has so many green spaces. I decided not to go to Southampton because when I visited it really just didn't wow me as much as a university - the course yes - but I could not picture myself the same as I could in Sheffield. the student union seemed non existent and for me that was important as I know it can mean support systems and a great way to make friends in its societies. I wanted to live near the sea which is a pro for it. I would say with the weather also England in general is never special on the weather and you will be gone by the time it gets to the summer anyways - also bonus of the north is snow so if you like the chance of a bit of fun in the snow too then shelf could be for you but if you rather have sun and sea and maybe a quieter uni experience then Southhampton may be better
