uni applications and alevel help

hello i am thinking of retaking yr12 but im not sure
i currently do biology chemistry and psychology
i love bio and psychology and ik i can do well in them however chemistry is really hard and i got a grade E twice now...
i think that the maximum i can get with chemistry is a C or maybe just a D, i was never great at chemistry and i regret picking it so much
ill be getting BBC at the end of yr13, however i need BBB for my uni course (diagnostic radiography)
should i repeat the year with biology and 2 diff alevels as my sixthform doesnt allow us to take same 2 subjects twice
or shall i stick with chem and carry on to yr13 with a D grade.

Do you know which subject you would want to take?
It might be possible to switch to 2 A levels at your sixth form next year and to take an A level in a year privately.

Or would you consider moving to a different college? It seems a shame to drop psychology if you enjoy it just because your sixth form are inflexible.

Hi @madina008 ,

I think you have quiet a few options which you can do. And ultimately I think you should pick which ever one you think will be best for you.
Firstly, I'd suggest you talk to your Chemistry teachers because maybe they can tell you a trend, in which questions you can work on and what they see on.

I think you said you need: Biology (B) Chemistry (B) and Psychology (B) for your Diagnostic Radiography course at university.

But you believe you'll be getting: Biology (B) Chemistry (C) and Psychology (B).
I think getting B is Biology and Psychology is a amazing achievement. I wouldn't want you to let these good grades go, because you aren't doing as well in Chem. I'm not sure if your sixth form allows you to do an AS is Psychology (as this is the course you've indicated you'd drop this one) so at least you have some sort of qualification though you wouldn't have the full A-level.

If you believe that you could pick another combination were you would be more comfortable, at ease and will get better grades. I'd go with that option, and see if you can defer your offer with your university.

I hope I manage to help a little. Good luck with your decision.

watch allery chemistry on YouTube and then do loads of past papers. do this for all the AS content and then repeat for A level content. You could also look into getting tutoring. But honestly you can do it the main thing about chemistry is understanding the content and most of the questions repeat just with different figures.
