MSc in Cybersecurity. Royal Holloway or University of Surrey

Hello all,

I am exploring my options for Msc in cybersecurity from the UK. As of now, I have shortlisted Royal Holloway and the University of Surrey. The reason is that they both have a extra 1-year professional programme.*

I want to know 2 things:

- if the extra year is worth it or not.
- Which Uni is good in terms of studies and overall experience?

Hi! 🙂

As crowned Cyber University of the Year by the National Cyber Awards 2023, at Surrey you'll be receiving future-ready education and comprehensive support that will prepare you for a solid, successful career in cyber security. I would recommend taking the professional training year if you can, as it is a brilliant way to get started with the university behind you all the way. Also, make sure you like the modules offered at Surrey by checking the course page.

Regarding studying and living in Guildford, you can read the student life page to get an idea for what it's like, as well as this page giving well-rounded reasons for you to join Surrey for your course.

Let me know if you have any further questions!
