IAL A level subjects- after year1- adding in Psycholgy

IAL Edexcel- Bio, Chem, Maths- Class of 2025. I find chemistry to be particularly tough and probably getting C/D (sat for Unit 1 Exam May 2024, had E grade in Mock exams). I have changed by mind (not studying medicine) and want to pursue social sciences, econ, psychology degree. can I change my subject after 1 year and study psychology over summers to then take unit 1,2,3 in Oct 2024. i will drop chemistry or take psychology as the 4th subject. I need to get atleast a BBB for the universities in HK which I am targeting. May be AAA ideally but i cant get any C. please help suggest what shall I do.

I did psychology in IGCSEs and got a 7. liked the subject. my main reason is to hopefully get better grade in Psychology (is it easier) . thanks

Hello yes absolutely you can if your college allows for it. I knew a girl who did A level Biology all in year 13 because she really wanted to get into medicine, so yes but you will need to work really hard. A level psychology is very content heavy so you'll need to study a lot over the summer and it's definitely harder than IGCSE's but mainly because of the magnitude of content. Also personally I find maths to be really challenging so if you are sure you can secure an A/B for maths I think you'll be just fine. Also how did you find the M1 and P1 papers this year? Hoping P2 goes well
