Advice on what I should do with going back to University

So in my final year I stopped going to University. I never told them I was dropping out, I just stopped contacting them. This was when the COVID outbreak happened. The university was closed and I had to move back home and University was now 100% remote.

With having to move back and studying my course from home it became unbearable to be honest, I eventually just stopped attending online classes and stopped doing assignments.

I ended up getting a job and just forgetting about it.
I now want to go back to Univeristy and finish my course. Is there any advice on what I should do? Would I need to start my course completely over? Or can I go back to just finish my final year? How would student finance work also? Any help would be much appreciated, I am contacting my university in a bit.

Hi there,

I would say talk to the university which you started your degree at and ask them if you will be able to continue your degree there or if there is a way for you to transfer to a different university if that is something you want as they should still have your information on their records. It could be possible that you might have to start your degree again but I think that this will be fairly unlikely as you would have already got the first and second year credits towards your degree. Also your university should also be able to advice you on student finance and if you'll be able to apply for that again as well. If your university is unable to answer your questions about student finance I would suggest getting in touch with student finance directly.

I hope this help 😊

Thanks for the advice! I contacted the University yesterday and they sent my email to the team of the subject I was taking. They told me to wait for more info.
