Where is the uni you are applying to - England, Scotland, Wales or NI? The system is different for each country?

You need to apply for student finance first. Once it is confirmed that you are eligible for student finance, you can apply to the NHS Learning Support Fund (NHS LSF) for the annual training grant of £5,000 plus other benefits. You can apply for the NHS LSF now but the deadline for applications is up to six months after the start of your course.

For your student finance application, if you haven't decided your firm yet, put down your favourite choice for now. You can easily change the uni on your application at a later date.

(Note: the NHS Bursary is a different thing that is only available to medical and dentistry students.)
