The Student Room Group

teacher snitching

hi , so i've skipped a lesson today ( i'm in high school for context) i'm aware what i did is wrong but bare in mind i've alredy sat my gcse for that subject. She emailed my parents saying that i've changed my friend group and that i'm trying to impress a guy and ofc about me skipping lesson . Does she have the right to say that to my parents ? especially since it has no relevance to what i've done. my parents don't believe me and ofc believe the teacher. but realistically is she allowed to lie to my parents and accuse me of false things ?

So where has the bit about the guy come from? What element of truth is there to that?

"Realistically is she allowed to lie to my parents and accuse me of false things?" - is a yes/no question, and yes, she can.

Yes, but you were bunking off from the girls school.

What I’m asking is are you seeing, or have you been seeing someone? Why would the teacher conjure this up with no proof, and why would your parents be likely to believe them?

nope , not seeing anyone. My parents no longer believe her as school emailed apologising for the teachers mistake . She is known to be a racist teacher and she doesn't seem to like me

legally ? she cant lie she's a teacher , lying to a parent . she has a duty of care

It seems to be resolved now but well this is past tense, she's already done it.

If you've just been caught bunking off your ability to defend yourself is somewhat compromised and no matter where you actually were, you weren't where you were meant to be, if pushed could you prove she was lying? In terms of legally, it's not a police matter and I'm going to assume you can't afford a lawyer here.

Yes because she is ur teacher and she should be telling ur parents if ur skipping the lessons and its her responsibility youre like in lessons and learning stuff. No because wth has you talking to a boy got to do with her and also she shouldnt be putting her nose in ur business and ur friendgroup unless like ur getting bullied or not safe.
