Low alevel grades

for my ucas application i was predicted the following:
C - biology
C - maths
A - german
Distinction - applied science

I firmed QMUL for biological sciences w foundation year on ucas. They want Cs in biology and maths. But i don’t really want to do a foundation year, I think i will get a B or an A in biology and hopefully a B in maths.
If i get good alevels, do you know if KCL does clearing? I wanted to do their neuroscience with psychology course.
or if i end up getting even lower than C in maths, would my QMUL still take me? i’m just really scared about what path to take now because my math seems to be holding me back a lot.

I also found out that if i go QMUL w foundation year, on my degree it will probably say that i did a foundation year and i feel embarrassed of that 😕

why would you be embarrassed? You will have achieved something amazing. Clearing depends on how many unfilled spots there are. And in terms of the uni thats really at their discretion if they have loads of people firm at top grades and then lots of those get lower grades they will be more likely to accept the lower grades. But honestly depends on the uni.

You don’t need to be embarrassed about maybe doing foundation year :frown:. I did one, quite a few years ago now, but I am about to start a PhD, nothing stops you, it just means you need to refine your basic knowledge. So honestly don’t worry too much. I agree with the second comment though, clearing is dependent on the uni, and the course as well. I did biosciences, most unis do clearing for the bioscience cohort, but you will need to be quick with it, especially if it’s KCL. In terms of QMUL conditional thing, it depends on the uni again. I was 2 ucas points off from doing Biomed at Huddersfield… and they still didn’t let me on the course, but I know some people got into their firm choice even though they didn’t get the desired grades.
