MSc Counselling & Psychotherapy Birmingham City University

Hi everyone!

First time poster on here! I am an international student from Canada and I am looking for some insight on BCU. I have been offered a position for the in MSc in Counselling & Psychotherapy. I would love to hear from those who have taken this course and their insight on the program.

Additionally I am open to hearing from BCU students as well about their experience! I am currently trying to decide between BCU and Keele University. I would love to hear about the campus life, student resources/support and cost of food/living or any insight at all! Thank you!

Hi @helenissac_,

Congratulations on your offer here at BCU!

I'm also an international student, but in my second year learning Psychology, and I've absolutely loved doing my course here. Although I don't have insight on your specific program, I hope I can highlight on the student life here at BCU. I'm based at the City Centre campus and I adore our campus - we're in the heart of the city which makes going to town so accessible if you want to grab a bite to eat during your breaks. There are also lots of student accomodation all in walking distance of our campuses. Personally, I would say Birmingham has a relatively affordable cost of living - it's one of the reasons why I chose to study here, I can live the city life without the city costs.

I've experienced lots of opportunities here at BCU, one of my most cherished opportunities is being part of the Student Content Creator team. BCU provides so many curricular activities students can sign up for, and our list of societies are endless! We also have a great student faculty where you can access a plethora of support services regarding mental health concerns, your coursework, and any other university-related concerns.

Feel free to ask any more questions!
