If I have more important things to be doing, why am I

Why am I still being asked to go into treatment? Like if I have more important things to be doing than "coming and talking to them about food", why am I being asked to go in for treatment? My therapists' manager said "I am sure you have more important things to be doing than coming and talking to us about food"

Your therapist may suggest treatment to address underlying issues related to food. They want to support your overall well-being, even if it feels like there are more pressing matters.

But according to them (I actually don't, or maybe I do like school and work but I am no longer at school and unemployed and on pip now) talking about food is not so important, but then recovery from anorexia is essential.

And in an inpatient ward do they give psychotherapy for it or just force food down you through a pipe?

Was that all that was said or was there more? It feels like there is a "However..."

The manager said "I'm sure you have more important things to be doing than coming and talking to us about food, can we agree that you are underweight?"

He didn't say however though.

It's not meant literally...

Why are you more concerned with semantics than the actual implications of what was said?
Anecdotally, almost everyone I see with some form of ED thinks they have better things to do, knows better or insists everyone is gaslighting them.

Yes I know it's not meant literally, there wasn't a "however" or "but".

What do you mean actual implications? He just asked me to say "yeah I am underweight" and agree with them, most people with an ED don't agree with their therapist and ED team that they are

The therapists manager is the one who told me I got better things to do. I think I remember typing it on here too, that I don't have time etc

out of interest, what are you so busy with?
It’s just a turn of phrase.

Like a teacher making pupils reflect on their actions when sitting down for detention.

I actually don't know. I actually have a lot of free time because I am not at work and on pip and I am also not at school. Those things usually take up time and we are busy with those things. I usually spend my free time watching things on TV or my phone like series or films some of which may be childish but I like taking a break from adult things sometimes, reading books and expanding my vocabulary and playing games. I used to do wordsearches and puzzles before, as well as colour in. I actually have free time and I am not busy with anything.
