The Student Room Group

Student finance

hello,
i need help, more like info.
I am currently a first year nursing student at UoL. I was classed as a tuition-fee only student as i lived in the UK for 2 years and 11 months unfortunately and wasn't able to apply for maintenance loan. I have been sent reminder to reapply and still classed as tuition-fee only student even though i have lived in the UK for 3 years now. (I am an european citizen too).
Can i still apply for maintenance if i was denied the first one?
Note: I wasnt exactly denied, i didnt apply for it the first time because of the fear of being denied tuition fee too.

Hi there, do you have pre or settled status and when was it you moved to the UK? Was it after the 1st of September 2023 (when your course began)? Thanks, Jason

Hi caenic274,

If you are an EU national with pre settled status you would usually only be eligible for tuition fee funding. The exception to this would be if you apply as a Migrant Worker for the maintenance loan. Once you gain settled status we can class you as a Home student.

Thanks,
Calum
