ok got it I wrote the same thing as you with the glucose for respiration and amino acids for proteins and growth

what did everyone put for the substances in blood question

i said glucose and mineral ions & vitamins
Original post by Milly.p2008
no j in general. like amino acids make proteins and glucose is needed for aerobic respiration. that's what I said. I don't think you can talk about red or white blood cells for that question because they aren't transferred from human blood to the ticks. rather they are components within the blood.
I talked about glucose for respiration and water to provide a medium for metabolic reactions is that ok?

for the question where we had to draw the line graph, mine didn't start at 0. there was no line from 0-2 if you get what I mean - it started at 2 and then went down. is that fine?

bro they cut marks for extraploration or smthn... only start with data given....

btw the paper wasn't essentially bio.... it was outside the comfort zone you know.... like not the CHD or like organ type questions..... Wrote to like the last minute....

yh I think so

it was sooo much easier than i expected

it was fine. but everything was on plants and ecosystems other than one question. i hope paper 2 has more human biology on it

i said glucose and oxygen for respiration is it correct
for that family pedigree question when it asked the genotypes of like the different letters, I wrote like homozygous recessive, or heterozygous dominant, etc, instead of writing out the actual letters do you think that fine?
what did you answer for the tic one on the infections and the magnification was 30 right?

omg sameeee!! why didnt they tell us what letters to use?? in the actual diagram i wrote C c

i said heterozygous so Rr
homozygous so rr
and for the substances of the blood one i put minerals(iron) for the making of haemoglobin and calcium for the making of teeth and bones for Substance 1 and then for Substance 2 i talked about vitamins A for the retina in the eye and Vitamin C for cell lining surfaces is that correct? do you find that in the blood?

Yes vitamins are soluble so they are dissolved in the plasma I think

uhh .. minerals solution is control tube/experiment with all factors/minerals present... distilled water doesn't contain any minerals
