how did you guys find it? personally i found it amazing and unfortunately other people did as well which means the grade boundaries will be so high , tbh i think i got like an 8 at least

I think I did pretty well apart from the magnification question. How did people get 800x?? Did you measure the actual image because people are saying it was 3.6cm but I don't remember it saying it anywhere so I assumed it was 30mm from the image

We went through the paper with my teacher and it was 800. You had to measure in mm not cm I think

Yes first you measure the image using a ruler to get 36mm (image size)
Then you do 1.5um x 30um to get 45um (from image)
Then you convert 45um to mm by dividing by 1000 to get 0.045mm (actual size)
Substitute into the formula (mag = image/actual)

magnification = 36mm/0.045mm

Therefore magnification = x800

you had to
1) 50-20 which got you 30
2) 30 x 1.5 = 45
3) then you measured the distance between the two points 20 and 50 which was 3.6 cm
4) then convert to um which was 36000
5) 36000/45 = 800x

unfortunately i hadnt converted properly so i got 80 so hopefully i got atleast like 3-4 marks

nope thats way to complicated

i put because it was cheaper and releases more energy

My science teacher said (even though we couldn't refer to sweetness in our answer) fructose is sweeter so you use less, meaning its cheaper overall.

Heyy yh so the first question is
-Give Two reasons why fructose is better than glucose. Don’t refer to sweetness in ur answer
-How can glucose be tested and how can protein be tested. So u need to give the name of the indicator and what colour it turns.
-There gonna be questions about ammonia
-There are two pictures and they are pictures of an alviolli. The question is why does the smoker breathe faster than the non smoker. U can see in the pictures that there’s less surface area and that.
-you have to plot the dots on a graph and draw the line if best fit
-there’s a question about a microscope showing a close up of a sperm. U basically need to work out the magnification of it and the answer is 800x. I’m not sure how to work it out tho.
-what type of microscope was used for figure…. This one it’s called an electron microscope and the reason is because the picture was shown in clear detail.
-u need to revise about diseases and stuff cause that comes up but I can’t remember the question exactly.
-the full equation for photosynthesis like with the numbers and everything but dw it’s a multiple choice
If I remember any more I’ll send it it as soon as I remember
