AQA English Grade 9

Hey!

I’m aiming for a Grade 9 in English Lit and an 8 in Lang. Does anyone have any tips on revising for them to achieve these grades, especially Literature? I do AQA Frankenstein, Romeo and Juliet, An Inspector Calls, and the Power and Conflict poetry anthology.

(Btw I don’t own a printer, so I can’t print off past papers :frown: )

Alternatively, if you (somehow) don't like him (massive side eye from me), you can try physicsmathstutor, they have really good summary notes on I think (?) every text. It's what I used in my mocks before I found Mr Salles, and I did decently well!

just wanna say that supposedly pmt has some false info on it so maybe don't rely on it completely for context points. (i could be wrong but my english teacher has a VENDETTA against it)

not sure exactly sorry :frown:. but I'm pretty sure there's some stuff from the love and relationships anthology that's wrong (I'm not too sure cause i don't really use it myself). i guess if you've been using it for context just google things to double check them? I'm not sure, I'm sorry i couldn't be more helpful. the only stuff i've ever been told was properly wrong was context so you should be fine if you just double check if you've used it. for studying some of the things you've said you could also use this guy on youtube called mr bruff that i found who's got some good ideas and i found his overview video on romeo and juliet quite good?? sorry i couldn't be of more help and again i could be wrong about pmt, i don't know it too well

thank you i’ll double check things from now on! i dont do love and relationships so i think i’ll be fine in terms of that lol 😭 and dw you’ve actually helped me bc i thought pmt was reliable!

i agree, mr bruff is very good but on his frankenstein video he talks so quietly, like i’ll have my volume all the way up and i can just barely hear him LMAO 💀💀
Would I get plagiarised for this?

It may be a little late now but for getting a clear understanding of the entire plot and ideas in a text, I find seneca to be really helpful. It's the only reason I actually know what happens in all the random scenes in R+J, just from their number. It helps to link your ideas to more plot points

Might be useful to look at some example papers from previous years that scored highly, both because it’ll tell you what the examiners like to award and you’ll be thinking about whatever text your studying (and different interpretations regarding it) at the same time.
