wow great job you got a lot done, what's your trick for getting through procrastination? i need to know bc i can never, i usually just sit around and daydream

I struggle a lot with procrastination, I literally check snapchat every 5 minutes (having a needy girlfriend doesn't really help things 😭), but I always think about how I only have one chance to do my GCSEs, and if I mess that up then I won't be able to live my dream of studying PPL at Oxbridge. Try finding something that really motivates you and fixate on it, I think that's the key!

Late night update!

Wow, 2nd page already!

Thank you all so much for your support and kind words, they really mean a lot to me :hugs:. Can't wait to crack on with my revision tomorrow!

What I managed to do:

Finish Jekyll and Hyde (Feeling ready for anything that can come up 😎)

Get a start on Macbeth - J&H took too long ughhhhh

Go on a really nice walk, the weather was literally beautiful! Found a new cool spot in the woods that I can go to revise for my A levels maybe?

Managed to bring myself to do some history revision! It was really hard, but at least I've done some  feeling better about my chances in the GCSE

Spent the rest of the evening (literally like 3 hours!!) talking to two American people on discord about philosophy, theology and politics. Was only meant to be a short discussion, but I got a bit carried away about how the existence of an omnibenevolent and omnipotent God was not possible if evil exists. Thanks Eduqas for teaching me all about it!

So, not as productive as I thought I would be, but still miles better than usual! Tomorrow I'm going to aim to do a lot more

Goodnight everyone, have sweet dreams, and see you tomorrow! :hello: (Hopefully I don't get woken up by those damn birds again 😭)

Thank you! I actually read your gyg after your contributions in the biology paper 1 chat and it inspired me to make my own  Thank you for having belief in me! Tbh, a lot of people in my year say French is way too difficult, but for some reason I think it's literally the most easy subject ever. Most of it is just a few basic rales with some excpetions that you can learn, but after that, it's very straightforward! Good luck to you too this summer and may you get the grades you deserve

Oh.. that was a surprise and unexpected 🤭!! Well I appreciate that
Maybe I'll try to learn it at the long summer holidays we have
And tyy :groovy:

Good afternoon everyone!

I promise I haven't forgotten about my GYG already! I just woke up like 3 hours ago 😭 I was so tired after being woken up so early yesterday, so decided to get some rest to recuperate.

I haven't really managed to do much so far in terms of studying, but I made a massive stride in progress on the piano! I actually figured out how to improvise over some arpeggiated chords! I spent ages just messing around on the piano because my parents aren't home and managed to come up with something pretty cool! I'll show my mum when she gets back from picking my sister up from DofE

I managed to get about halfway through the Macbeth video, so my plan for today is just to finish that, and then do some plans for English exam questions. Maybe I'll do some history if there's time tonight.

See you later!

Some not so great news...

I knew it would happen at some point, but I hoped it wouldn't be English. My exam today went horribly :frown: . I ate up the Jekyll & Hyde question, but when I got onto Macbeth, my brain stopped working and I produced the biggest pile of crap I have ever made and dumped it onto the question paper. There's no way I get above half marks for that question. Not to mention too that it was LITERALLY the WORST question AQA could've come up with :frown: Seriously struggling to believe that a 9 is even possible now for English Literature for me. :frown: .

Oh well, I can't change the past, so I just have to learn from it  . I'm going to try really hard for paper 2 so I can at least get an 8  Hopefully power and conflict will treat me well!

The good news!

FRENCH TOMORROW!!!!!! :france: I CAN'T WAIT!!! I get to show off all that I've learned over the past few years and try to get 100%! Hopefully Edexcel won't be as cruel as AQA to me

The plan for today!:

Do every higher listening & reading past paper

Look through the list of vocab so I don't get caught out by any random words

Revise tenses just to be sure I am 10000000% confident

Read lots of French!!

Listen to a French podcast

Listen to French music whilst I'm revising to subconsciously absorb the Frenchness

That's it from me, how have you guys been? How did everyone find the English today / how is your A level revision going? Keep me updated!

Thank you for reading!

Oh absolutely! What I do is find a conjugation table on google, then, using it, just make up a bunch of different sentences in all the different pronouns (I, You, We, They etc). This method is really useful because you get to learn both how to use the tense and also you can practice using all sorts of vocab too! After you've done a few sentences, you start to get the hang of it and don't need to use the table anymore. Hope I've helped!

Hi everyone! :hello:

Just wanted to say that French went AMAZING!!! I cooked up a 3 star michelin meal, ate it up, and left ZERO crumbs!! :france: I only dropped one mark in the whole thing because some year 7 started screaming in the corridors outside the exam hall about how he beat someone on fortnite yesterday on the second chance we got to listen to one of the extracts, so I couldn't quite get what I needed . Not all year 7s, but it's ALWAYS a year 7!! :shakecane: But 99/100 is still good!!

I have history and computing tomorrow UGH. Of course literally the 2 most content heavy subjects had to be on the same day!! I bet OCR and Edexcel teamed up to make our lives a nightmare! :unimpressed:

Luckily, I have a lot of hours between them as history is only a short paper, so I'm going to blitz through the computing course in the library!! It should be fine, but there's SOOOOOO many random key terms I have to remember for NO reason!! All I know is that a MAC tastes nice with cheese, NIC is what's in a vape, and WAP is the song by Cardi B. Am I cooked guys? 😭

How has everyone been feeling over this exam season?

See you later everyone!

Because you know when you literally understand entirely the question and the text and your answer? That feeling that you KNOW everything is right? I had that for literally every single question apart from the one I couldn't hear. Also, I've been reading books in French and GCSE is so much easier than that. I checked the paper through 3 times and literally eradicated every single possibility of losing marks. Plus there are no long-form answers, so it's very easy to know when you get a mark or not as every question is either 1 or 2 marks.
