Master at Newcastle University, 2 bachelor’s degrees

Hello everyone.

I have a degree in sociology from a prestigious university in my country - Non-EU - and a second degree in computer science from a no-name for profit university.

I want to apply for a master program in CS at Newcastle Uni, but I’m not sure which route will give me a higher chance:

I could apply with my CS degree to the Advanced Computer Science master, but since it’s from a no-name university, I don’t like my chances.

OR

I could apply with my sociology degree to the CS conversion master, but they explicitly say your bachelor shouldn’t be in the field of CS, which I have one that is, but i could omit it - not sure if that’s ethical.

What can I do?

Go for the Advanced CS MSc. For one, lying on your application is going to mean you are likely going to be rejected. Two, the name of your university usually doesn't matter unless it's for a PhD or a course so ridiculously competitive in the country - this is not automatically implied, but it would be explicitly stated in the entry requirements of the individual degree.

These are their entry requirements: https://www.ncl.ac.uk/postgraduate/degrees/5178f/#entry-requirements
So long you have a 1st class CS degree (something like a 4.0 GPA) then you should be fine for most parts.
