The presence of the Cifas marker itself will not impact a UK visa application / extension. The Cifas marker is not recorded in the PNC (Police National Computer) database, nor does its presence form part of DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) search.
I have no knowledge of the US visa application process.

Well, having a CIFAS marker is not in itself going to be an problem.
There are various types of CIFAS markers. Do you know what type applies to yourself? Markers like "Protective Registration" and "Victim of Impersonation" indicate no fault on your part.
Some other types, however, tend to imply that there may have been some underlying fraud or similar which caused the CIFAS marker to be added. So the nature of the activity which triggered the CIFAS marker is key here. That activity may be of concern to the Home Office - not the CIFAS marker itself.
