Cybersecurity Masters online: University of London or University of Huddersfield

I have shortlisted two universities for a master's degree in cybersecurity. I am however wondering which would be best for this course. Not a lot of information is out there for both courses at these unis.

My main concern with the programme at the University of London (Royal Holloway University) is the requirement to take exams at local centres in May. I live in a remote part of Nigeria and don't think I can afford to travel to any of the big cities where I understand these centres would be. If this programme is fully available online, then I am happy with it.

I like the Huddersfield option particularly as it's NCSC accredited (University of London is sadly not). It is also more affordable. But the problem is that it does not sufficiently cover the area of security I would like to focus in.

Any advise from a current student in either of the programmes would be greatly appreciated!

Hi @Kaykas, I'm really pleased to hear that you are considering studying Cyber Security online with the University of Huddersfield. You can email our admissions team at [email protected] and they may be able to facilitate a discussion with a current student, as well as answer any other questions you might have abut the course.

Good luck with your shortlisting.

Best wishes,

Hi @Kaykas,

Glad to hear you are considering Royal Holloway for MSc Cyber Security. Our online MSc Cyber Security programme is not currently one of the programmes that is moving assessments to take place in exam centres. The March 2024 and September 2024 exams for online MSc Cyber Security will continue to be ‘at home’ online exams. We are yet to confirm the format for the 2025 exams for online MSc Cyber Security.

Hope this helps and good luck!

Best wishes,
