will i get a 2:1?

hi! so i’m not actually sure if this post is allowed (apologies if not!) but i was wondering if somebody would be able to help to put my mind at ease a little bit.

i’m currently really stressed about getting my final grades back so i’ve been using university grade calculator a lot to test some possible outcomes.

for context, i did six modules in my third year, all worth 20 credits each, with my dissertation worth 40 credits.

these are my grades so far:

module 1: 69% (20 credits)
module 2: 69% (20 credits)
module 3: 60% (20 credits)

dissertation: 67% (40 credits)

i’m unsure what i will get in my final two modules. i have done one assignment so far for module 4 which i scored 65% in and i’m expecting to get slightly more than this in assignment 2. if i assume that i will get 65% overall for this module, according to university grade calculator, it is possible for me to score 40% overall in module 5, and still graduate with a solid 2:1…does this seem right? i am really worrying over my final grade as i really don’t know how i’ve done in module 5…getting 40% is incredibly unlikely but it’s a comfort. it might also be worth mentioning that i got a 2:1 in second year also which is worth 25% of my overall grade with third year being worth 75%.

can anyone validate this? or at least explain how likely it is for me to get a 2:1? thank you in advance!

To clear something up, how many credits are you taking this year and why more than 120?

If the work is already submitted and you're unable to make changes, I don't think there is much point in worrying about it.
We’d need to know your year two average weighted mark to provide any meaningful advice.

40% seems a bit of a drop off given you are solidly in upper 2:1 territory otherwise. Are you just panicking about a bit of a wobble? Or is it a capped result?

hey! so i did six modules this year that were worth 20 credits each, apart from my dissertation which was worth 40 so my third year was worth 140 credits overall. my dissertation was an optional module which added on an extra 20 credits! sometimes certain levels are worth more credits i believe? although i’m not 100% sure! all i know is that they all count towards my final grade! hope that makes sense and kind of answers your question

my second year average was 61% and it’s worth 25% of my final grade with my third year average worth 75%. yep, it’s definitely very very unlikely that i’d end up with 40% that was more of an extreme ‘what if’ scenario to comfort myself tbh!

Curious. Did you only take 100 credits in second year? Normally it's 120 credits per year for a total of 360.
