Will good universities still accept me if i go to college?

Hello. I am doing my studies in Scotland and I am currently s6. I am doing my higher exams. Last year I did my national 5s and passed all of them, but i left these exams especially last minute and I'm not so sure I'll pass.
To prepare for the fact that I may not grt the grades I need to get into the course and unis i want, I applied to college where I will do those same highers.
Will they still accept me if I do my highers after S6? Will it count as still second sitting? I see universities have different entry requirements for second sitting so perhaps 'third sitting' is also different? Will they accept me at all if they see I failed my s6 exams and had to go to college to compensate?
Thank you for any responses.

Hey @srrrrrrrttt 😀 My best advice would be to get in touch with universities directly. Email admissions teams in the course you want to apply to, and let them know your subject areas and grades. Include any pending qualifications and what your intentions are for next year.

They'll be able to advise what the best route is. Normally first sitting and second sitting refers to the first and second time you sit those exams, and if you've already done two sittings of highers it may then be preferable for you to consider a HNC/HND next.

Get in touch with the unis to ask directly. You should be able to find contact details on course pages 🙂
