am I overweight?

Hi,
my pakistani mum has been going on about how fat I am and saying I am overweight for my age.
I did my BMI on several websites including the NHS one and it says I am a healthy weight for my age and height. I am currently doing GCSES so my weight isn't really something I am worrying about but my mum definitely is.

Don't worry!Truss I got a Sri Lankan mum who always tells me that 'im too fat' for my age and im 6'2ft and 64kg. Dont worry I think mums esp asian mums call us fat after seeing other people our age or even a little belly fat can make us look very fat in our mums perspectives.Honestly don't worry im doing Gsces rn asw probably just don't stress about your mums opinions for now-if the BMI says that ur a healthy weight then you are!

Please dont worry about ur weight. Focus on ur studies and gcses rn. If ur bmi is fine and ur healthy, then what should be the problem. It’s your body not ur mums. You shouldnt be forced to feel like you should lose weight unless you are unhappy with it. Plus, beauty standards nowadays are unreal and you probably just see it in the internet, social media and tv etc. Like ask yourself this question, is it very common and an everyday thing to see a skinny supermodel figure walking down the streets. Well the answer is no cause its not common and u arent the only one who isnt like super skinny. As long as ur happy and healthy, thats all good.

Hey, I understand your concern. If your BMI shows you're at a healthy weight, that's a good indicator. It's important to focus on your GCSEs right now. Maybe share some health articles from https://betterme.world/articles/ with your mum to ease her worries. Keep staying healthy and confident!
