HMRC Compliance Caseworker 2024

Just thought I'd start a thread for those of us who got through to the in tray exercise/interview stage. Anyone completed both yet? I've done 95% of the in tray and putting off interview prep because I'm dreading it!

Hey, I have completed the in tray exercise and just beginning to do the prep for the interview. Good luck for when you decide to complete it!

Thank you, you too! When are you planning on doing the interview? I am so nervous for it.

Thank you! I’m going to do it either on Tuesday or Saturday. Hbu? Have you done any civil service recorded interviews before?

I think I'll probably do it at the weekend. I haven't done a pre recorded one, but I have done an in person one a few years ago for a HO position. I got really stressed out about it, panicked and didn't do a lot of prep. Obviously I failed but not actually as badly as I thought I had. Have you done one before? How did you find it?

Just completed the In-Tray exercise which is reasonably straight forward. My only concern was how to pitch the email response. I went for bone dry and formal which I hope is right.

Oh wow. Was anyone else on the teams call just now? I can't believe someone asked if they were talking about physical strength when talking about strength based questions! How did these people get through to interview in the first place?

I missed the session. Please can you brief me of any important thing to note?
Thanks.

Welldone, my in-tray excercise is 90% completed, still thinking of the best way to present it.

I’m sure you’ll be great. I’ve done a few. They’re strange to say the least as you haven’t got anyone else there but you get used to it pretty quickly.

Oh dear 😭 did they give a timeline by any chance of when results could be expected from the interviews?

They tend to be questions that aren’t that easy to prep tbh. For some reason I’m struggling to think of any that I’ve seen in the past off the top of my head but if I remember I’ll let you know 😅

No they didn't. I wish someone could have asked a sensible question like that. I ended up leaving the call early because I couldn't listen to another ridiculous question. I'm guessing we will be in for a long wait though. Did you get your interview done?

Honestly there wasn't much. There will be 2 behaviour questions and 3 strength questions. Everything else was information we'd been given in the 2 emails.

Ah okay - that’s fair enough 😂 it’s why I don’t go to those types of things as they sometimes end up more of a hinderance than a help if people are asking silly questions. I haven’t yet - will probably be Saturday. Have you?

I will probably do mine Saturday or Sunday I think. I feel prepared for the behaviour questions but not the strengths. Theres so many they could ask about. Wish they'd narrow it down a bit 😂

Let me know how you feel it went once you've done it!

The strength ones are the ones that always throw me 😂 just be natural about them and you’ll be fine. Let me know how you feel after it as well 😂 good luck!

Please I could not find the in-tray assessment, can you sign post where I can find it as mine is showing only an interview?
