How has the training been Jaycee? I'm quite on edge wondering how it's going to be.

Hey, it's going. We should streaming into our tax head in the next 2 weeks.

There are tutor led and independent learning, which you will be doing with your cohort, so it ain't all that bad.

How is the training for working from home?

nothing different, just that you are home. But of course when you are doing tutor led, you may need 2 screens so you can follow along.

So as soon as you start, it is black Friday week, I suggest speaking with your manager asap and ordering the items. You can order screen, desk and chair by yourself. If you spend more than £300 (£100 each), you only get that 300 back, if you spent less, you get back what you paid.

Ah that’s good to know. I was thinking I need to order a second screen for when I start but I’ll hold out until I start if they are going to pay for it 🤣

Thanks, that's helpful. Any idea how holidays are approved around Christmas? Are you aware if we can work from home a bit more in that week?

Holidays are easily approved. Ideally if you want 10 days off, ideally book it 20 days before.

Also, as you know you can't book the 1st 2 weeks off, but after that, you start case studies, you don't want to miss any case study as all must be done before you go to the next stage. E.g. if you miss number 5, you can still do 6, 7 etc but you must go back to that 5 which may be when the February cohort starts. So don't miss any.

Regarding working from home that week, there is no written memo, just speak with your manager and they will understand most especially if transportation will be an issue. In December, you need to do 12 days of you don't take a holiday so.....

Thanks Jaycee, this is great. I was hoping to have a day or two off around Christmas and maybe work from home an additional day.

I’m probably being stupid and the answer is probably really obvious, but what do you mean by the last bit about 12 days?

Thank you!! If you don’t mind me asking, have they told you about how flexi works and if so, is it easily organised?

60% is 12 days in the office.

You can't do Flexi this early and you should not build it.

Ah that makes sense - thank you!

Do you know the 60% works over Christmas with Christmas being the in the middle of the week? Are we expected to be in the office all 3 days of Christmas week as Christmas Day and Boxing Day we are off or is it 60% of the 3 days the office is open? So 2/3?

I'm not 100% sure I understand the question. But there is a thing that tells you how many days you need to be in. So it is 12 days in December. It takes 25 and 26 into account. And also we only get new year off. To be clear, 25, 26 and 1st are the only off days. They don't shut from 25-1st.

And regarding December, which I may have said earlier, speak with your manager, e.g. transport.

So correct me if I am wrong, and this is all hypothetical as I would never want to do this but say if once week I did 5 days in the office, could you then do 5 days at home the following week as long as overall in December, 12 days are in the office?

its why I said speak with your manager. And hence why I gave you hint transport will be bad in that period (December). Lol all this questions has been answered somewhat this morning.

And for other months as far as I am aware, at this moment. It's 3 days a week, not 5 on 5 off.

Good news for anyone still on the reserve list and who have applied for the next campaign, the budget confirmed investment in compliance.
For those that have already started, how does the first few months look? How long is the training? Are you with your teams or still with your training groups?

Any craic with trance 3? Any offers so far from January start date yet? Or has there only been September and November so far?

Its actually 60% of the month and not 60% of the week.
3 days a week is just an average.
If one is required to be in the office 12 days in a month, they can do this however they see fit, they just need to ensure they fulfil the required days.
You've got to remember that the role is not just hybrid, but also flexible working.
However, during the first two weeks, there are days that you are mandated to be in the office, after this period, one can do as they please.....well, that's the case in my office.

ok, my cohort asked that q, the response was something like you are correct but we want you doing the 3 days a week. rather than front loading it or back loading it.

Oh no that's a shame.
I guess it's all down to managers and how they Interpret the policy.
We're told to do what makes sense for us and was even advised to factor in travel cost.
So some do a couple of weeks on and a couple weeks off (and get weekly travel cards, rather than paying daily rates)
And this is how I know it to be be across a few departments and offices.
