Postgraduate loan - temp job outside of UK more than 3 years

Hello,

I’m looking to start a Master’s course in academic year 25/26. By that time I will have been living outside the UK and EU for over 3 years (since November 2021), doing a job that has a maximum length of 5 years (technically temporary?).

I am a UK national by birth with a UK passport, what can I do to prove that my leave from the UK was temporary, in order to qualify for the postgraduate loan?

Hi there,

If you left the UK due to employment we would require copies of the temporary contracts to confirm it was on a temporary basis.

One more question. If the contracts are not in English, will an official translation be required? They are in Japanese. Thank you!

Hi there,

We would always suggest that the documents sent to us are a certified translated copy along with the original non translated document. Without this we are unable to guarantee that we can process the evidence.

If we receive documents that are not in English every effort will be made to translate these. If we are unable to translate the documents we will request that you send in a certified translated copy which could lead to a delay in processing your application.
