Southampton or SOAS for Law

I have received offers from both unis, I need AAB for Southampton (EPQ conditional) and ABB for SOAS. I want to consider employability, area (thus the networking opportunities or internships available). I would go for SOAS as its in London and closer to my home but I have heard bad things about the student satisfaction and lecturer reviews. Also, from what research I have done, it doesn't seem to be a target or semi-target uni for top firms.

Look at the size of the Law department and what facilites are available - and what extras are on offer at each, such as moot courts, staffing law clinics, placements and study abroad etc within each course. Remember that SOAS is Africa/Asia focussed, and Southampton is more of a 'general' Uni. Also that living in London is expensive.
Hi there, congrats on getting offers from both universities!
Its important to look at what modules are on offer when choosing your courses to see which course interests you the most. SOAS Law not only provides a strong basis in general Law such as Property, you also have the opportunity to study more niche modules such as Islamic Law or Ocean and Outer Space Law. These courses can really make you stand out to employers! SOAS Law graduates have gone on to work for 'magic circle' firms like Linklaters as well as international institutions like the UN. Have a look at the module options for BA Law here: https://www.soas.ac.uk/study/find-course/ba-law
Hope this helps!
