uni of reading pharmacy

I initially applied last year for mpharm at reading and i didnt get the grades, so i decided to take a gap year and resit because i really want to go to reading for pharmacy.
But because i was way too scared incase id have to take another gap year, i applied to the course with foundation year, to at least guarantee finally going.
I just want to know, is there any chance they can move me up to the regular 4 year instead of the 5 year course, and if they can what are the exceptions or the chances of that happening?

Hi there,
Congratulations on applying to Reading to study Pharmacy with Preparatory Year! Regarding your situation, I understand your desire to move from the foundation year to the four year course. Whilst I cant guarantee any specific outcomes, I can provide some information which may help!

It is worth waiting to see what grades you receive from your resits. In the meantime, you may wish to phone our very friendly and helpful admissions team who can advise you on the best route to take if you do get the grades for the four year programme. For undergraduate programmes like yours, you can call Reading Admissions Department on 01183788372, or you can email [email protected]. More information/contact details can be found here.

It may also depend on the spaces available on the four year course which is why it is 100% worth contacting admissions who can talk you through your next steps. They will be able to provide you with more specific guidance based on your individual circumstances and the policies of the university with regards to changing degree programmes.

I would note that universities are very willing to work with students to help them achieve their academic goals so don't hesitate when reaching out! The University of Reading Admissions will be very happy to assist you with your questions.

Best of luck with your studies, I hope everything works out for you- I'm sure it will!

Good evening,

I am not sure if the MPharm Pharmacy course is included in the EPQ offer. The online course listings will indicate if your chosen programme participates in this scheme.

I had a look at the course and couldn't see any information indicating the EPQ is included. Therefore, I would think it is not. However, I suggest you contact the Ask Us a Question form. This will put you in contact with the admissions office, which will confirm whether the course is included.

I hope this helps, and if you have any other questions please let us know.

All the best,
Ella
