gyg - alevel grind time 💪💪

oki doki, welcome to part 2 of my gyg i guess [gyg - making the most of my education + 2024 goal list ], but since study leave is officially upon us i thought why not start a new thread focused on my alevel breakdown + revision log thing to keep myself more up to track and motivated  (yes this is partially cause i couldn't edit my other gyg title lols and wanted it to be more focused on it lolll)

also one important note: i'm gonna be as realistic as possible, not just check in's of "i did x hours of super productive work" since that's not always the case and we're allowed to do less and struggle on certain days as well  we all have good and bad days, and no matter what/how much we're doing we should be there for eachother during exam season

so alevel breakdown is as follows:
physics paper 1: 24/05
pure 1: 04/06
physics paper 2: 06/06
chemistry paper 1: 10/06
pure paper 2: 11/06
physics paper 3: 17/06
chemistry paper 2: 18/06
stats & mech: 20/06
chemistry paper 3: 21/06

time till first exam: 11 days
feeling: not too baddd

since today is officially my first day of study leave i decided to take it a bit more chilled out whilst still doing a bit of work, so i had a late start, around 11am although i plan to get up earlier after today loll, i did a lil bit of tidiying and set up my snack/drinks corner, so far we have a mix of sweets/sour sweets/chocolate/crisps/snack + energy bars/salty things + flavoured water (sparkling and still) and electrolytes + redbull (reserved for pre-exam and super focus revision seshes)
contrary to what you'd expect i'm actually NOT doing physics today (shocker) instead i'm doing CHEMISTRYYY!!!!
ok ok, hear me out- i've put so much energy on physics paper 1 that now i think it's good to do something else to not overwhelm myself and i struggle SO MUCH identifying synthesis reactions, particularly those "explain what reactions could be done to form compound x from compound y" so i'm doing a lot of identifying functional groups in those really funky formulae and writing reaction pathways and we're doing pretty well.

i'm quite surprised in what i managed to do at home, i am planning to go to a library to revise maybe even later this week but we'll see cause at the same time i find it so awkward going places alone but i NEED the alone revision time cause i get so easily distracted and my mum works from home which will not be useful to have her nagging at me at home haha

time till first exam: 9 days
feeling: pretty decent

oki dokiii day 2 of this let’s goo!!
im typing this in the middle of library revision loll, BUTTT LOOK WHO MADE IT OUT OF THE HOUSE TO DO WORK AHHHH. see monday was all good, but tuesday my mum was home (she works from home mostly) and the vibe was COMPLETELY OFF. idk i seem to not be able to work when other ppl are at my house?? anywaysss

today’s a heavy physics day, i did a lil bit of physics before i left the house and i also did a full paper (AS breadth and depth, cause i don’t have the Alevel 2023 ones :frown: )

but i met up with some friends to have a study session, we WERE supposed to go to the British Library but bro they’re SO PACKED so backups plan it it, although the other libraries round aren’t bad soo a win is a win. plus i got a reader pass so i can go to the reading rooms if i can be bothered (although no food/drink even water and only pencils allowed?) but it’s nice having that option

i think these coming weeks i’m focusing on physics and chem (after phys paper 1) but hopefully i get out a bit more, i’ve got a few libraries of choice sooo fun times  hopefully the weather is as nice tho

that’s all for today’s update

time till next exam: 8 days
feeling: mehhh could be better

welcome to update number 3! idk i think i'm losing motivation a lil at this point, i thik it's cause of the fact i still have over a week before my first alevel so the stress hasn't quite hit i guess. still we are pushing through and doing work, so far i've done a bunch of alevel and as papers and i've been consistently getting A/B's which is promising for sure.
although there's still work going on i don't feel like i'm being super productive, probably another factor is the fact i can't seem to get up and start working consistently, sometimes i'm up at 7 and working from 9, others its up at 10 and not being able to focus in, and yes I have my alarms on so idk why i can't get up oof.
i was planning to go to the library again today but failed :frown: but i'm still trying to do work and that's all that matters, since still doing relevant work is good work, so we're trying to not bring ourselves down. i will try go out on saturday again , since tommorow i have the house to myself anyways so no distractions  and i'm already planning to go out for a study sesh with my friends again on sunday

thats a wrap for our lil update/ramble for today, might be back later with a checklist of what i did today
good luck for your revision today, remember to look after yourself <3

time till first exam: 4 days
feeling: kinda stressed lol

i haven't done an update in a while omg and now it's 4 DAYS ahhh, and although it's physics in 4 days i'm doing a lil bit of chem 😅 maybe a lil unexpected but i need to get them damn synthesis pathways solid and they're KILLING me plus i've done physics to the point i can't think properly anymore so i'll focus today on chem and go back to physics for the last 3 days and then paper 1 will be DONEEE so no more motion and stuff which im SO EXCITED and the PLANETARY MOTION + all the different laws absolutely finish me off so woohoo 🎉🎉

so that's the lil plan 4 today, tommorow i might not update so we'll do a plan for tommorow too since why not? tommorow we're going back to physics an focusing on module 3 and definitions so we hopefully slay this exam

feeling: pretty good surprisingly

oki doki welcome back to todays update  yess i said i wouldn't do one today but i found time so why not? i did two past papers today (2023 paper 1 and 3) and then revision on the places i messed up. I realised there is SO MUCH big qu's on module 5 in the past few papers oml, but it wasn't too bad. I had an appt for my wrist since i broke it earlier and it's still causing issues but it was good cause the library is 15 mins or so from there so i packed my stuff and when there right after and FOUND A SEAT at none other than the British Lib???? baring in mind i was there around 11:30 (2 hours post opening) CRAZY LUCK
but i'm in a splint for my wrist/thumb AGAIN cause i might've messed up my tendon or smth so not fun :frown: but at least they gave me one with which i can write in comfortably but better this than ignoring it until exams started cause it could've been worse.

I'm going to try get up early tommorow and go to the library early tommorow and get i nice sexy booth seat 🙏

time til next exam: 6 days
feeling: a tad stressy but whatever

haven't been on here for a bit oof that's what exams do to ya haha, also been dealing with a bit of pain flare, primarily in my hand - perfect timing for exams that i have to WRITE with said hand, but back to it. it's officially been nearly a week post physics paper 1 and i am still bitter abt it, thank you ocr for that..... ....paper 🙃 sooooooo let's say i had to let off some stress with a lil bit of fun and drinks, but it was the start of halfterm so i felt it was deserving of relax time

anyways to the actually academic sidee, i;ve done a fair share of maths papers this week and some chem revision, althougth dummy me forgot physics p2 was before chem p1 so ugh gotta get that in clutch to hopefully show physics who's boss this time around, although i don't feel as stressed abt it compared to maths.
see the problem with maths is that it is ALL of pure so i feel like i can do all these papaers and STILL something i wouldn't have thought of will come up so we are GRINDINGG through all of the P1 and P2 since both maths papers are the same spec so hopefully everything will be covered

we'll see how this week turns out in gong out to revise so hopefully i can get up early enough to actually grab a library seat since maths revision is boring the hell out of me so change of environment will be nice

a lil bit of a longer than expected update but yeahhh, at least the weather seems to be looking up so it'll be nice going out this week but we are not pressuring ourselves bc doing work still counts

2nd june
time till next exam: 2 days (AHHH)
feeling: semi oki

maths is in two days and i'm already SO OVER ITTT, i actually cannot so this anymore i feel like i'm just doing the same thing over and over but i am still torturing myself with past papers an so far done just over half paper 1s and got all of paper 2s to go to finish revision tmrw and we are going back to the Brit Library at 8:30 to get the beauty of the spot me and my friends got friday last week <3333

ngl i have neglected physics a tad :frown: but at the same time i am pretty ok with the content and think that we've done so much coverage in school as well as doiing my own work/past papers bc of the atrocity of yr1 so waves and electricity are pretty ok??? anyways i'll spend tues/weds doing physics and spamming past papers to get that last push then we'll be all good

hopefully maths p1 will be better than physics p1 cause that made me feel like death and i cannot have that again 🤞🤞
only thing stressing me out is that ANYTHING can come up on p1 of pure maths so we are CRAMMING trig identities and double angle formulae + differentiation (i CANNOT do first principles still 🥲) plus integration methods cause there are so many + functions so we will hope for the best anyways enough yapping so adios i'm off to finish the '22 maths paper lols

time till next exam: 2 days (ughhhh)
feeling: not badd but still stressed

it's been a WHILEE since ive been here but ehh that's alevels for ya!! i am stressed to sa\y the least for these next exams cause physics has been a whole mess for p1, howeverrr p2 made up for it (somewhat :s-smilie: ) so cheers OCR, i'm dreading chem p1 cause i'm so weak on physical chem and the ocr p1 have been TORTURE so haha funsies
-genuinely i am terrified for chem to the point i am STRUGLING with revision so I am doing ALL the past papers now but failing to time them oof and my ipad keeps DYING cause of how much i be using it haha

anyway on a more positive note, i found maths to be pretty good so positive vibes + we are ONE THIRD DONEEEE ( 3 of 9 exams, but 1/3rd done sounds better lol) although i'm still not finished a single subject and i feel like so many ppl have already nearly finished their exams (jealous +annoyed STEM subjects are at the v end of exam szn) but at leadt we're getting closer and then we can finally RELAXXXX (eras tour in 2 WEEKS AHHH, day after exams are done tooo 💪💪)

that's all from me adios
