Is it normal to want to read spoilers about a movie or TV series before watching it?

Generally, it is assumed that most people will want to watch a movie before finding out what happens in it, hence why spoilers are usually hidden under a tab on online pages. I on the other hand a the complete opposite. I like to know everything about a particular movie or TV series before watching it, and will spend hours on IMDB scanning information beforehand.

I don't really know why I'm like this, but I wonder if sensitivity to certain content has a part to play. I'm sure this kind of behaviour is more common than people make out to be as some people can get triggered by extreme sexual, harmful or racial content, even if they are old enough to watch it. In my case, I struggle with subtle cues and sarcasm hence I like to read a written version of the plot so I know what is happening. I also like to know if a romantic or sex scene is going to happen and what it will entail before watching a movie with it in, as the surprise of it happening can trigger my heart rate to an unbearable level.

Is there anyone else out there who can relate?

hmmmm well depends honestly, like if im trying to find something to watch i really like searching up about it to know everything that happens, or if im midway through a tv series or a movie with a sequel and i see a spoiler i will immediately search it up to know what was going on in the spoiler!
