Aston Uni or University of Leiceister?

I have applied to both these unis and still haven’t set my firm choice on UCAS as I’m really stuck on which to go to. I have been to the Aston applicant day and it seemed okay but the vibe there just seemed really dull and depressing if that makes any sense. I’ll be visiting the Leicester applicant day but I just wanted to know anyone else’s opinions? Do you just get used to the university over time and am I the only one who saw it like that?

I personally chose Leicester computer science over Aston and I’m in year 13. Id advise Leicester if you want an integrated masters, or if you want a good placement year, I’d advise Aston as they do specialise in it

Hi @ctarmac

It's completely normal to feel uncertain when choosing between universities, and visiting applicant days is a great way to get a feel for each campus. We're excited to welcome you to Leicester for our Offer Holder day, where you can explore the vibrant campus and engage with our friendly community.

As a current student at Leicester I find that it has a lively and welcoming atmosphere with plenty of opportunities for socializing, extracurricular activities, and academic support. I had a really positive experience visiting my university campus on Offer Holder day which made me put Leicester down as my firm choice!

It's important to consider how you feel in the environment where you'll be spending the next few years. While applicant days give you a snapshot, your experience will evolve as you settle in, make friends, and get involved in university life. Many students grow to love their university even more over time.

I always encourage others to talk to more current students during Offer holder days perspectives. If you have any specific questions or need more information, feel free to reach out. I hope your visit to Leicester helps you make a confident decision!
