No. I didn't need to use the app to pass my driving theory.
I did however buy the DVLA book with all of the multiple choice questions that could come up (along with the answers). That was really helpful, even though it is roughly 3x the price of the app.
Im so gassed. Im taking my theory on my 17th birthday and I'm gonna be the quickest person in my family to pass the theory and the test. The test will be a few months after the theory
