De-stress together. <3

Hello TSR-ers, :blow:

Exam season has arrived (do i hear the doorbell?😱) for most of us, whether that be due to A-Levels, GCSE's or end of year exams, but (for most of us) that usually comes with a lot of built up stress and tension. Be that physically, mentally or both, stress can really push us down in exams and so it becomes a fight within us against it :fight:.

As a way to unwind, I created this thread as a little go to 💫de-stresser💫. Be that to rant about your exam to get things off your chest, or just talk about how you're going to relax after everything, we all need a way to de-stress after this much hard work, even if its 10 minutes.

So as a starting point, I ask these questions:

1.

Do you de-stress?

2.

How do you unwind after a long day of revision?

3.

What techniques do you think are useful as de-stressers?

Kickstart with my answers-

1.

Too much, it may be a problem because I use it as procrastination-

2.

Usually read a book, watch some anime, talk to my friends and family or just sit with my pets and complain to them.

3.

SOMETHING YOU ENJOY. This should be something you look foreword too, don't make de-stressing a chore. Id say your hobbies, something you've put off for a while that you want to do. Also journaling can be a really useful way to just rant your heart out to a page, its fun, I promise.

Good luck everyone with exams . You've all got this.

I get that because they really dont even give you time to breathe, but just even 5 mins to yourself to do something you want and blocking everything out will help.
All the best
Honestly I live reading before I go to bed each day and in the last like 10 minutes before an exam I stop revising and just sit there so i’m not stressing as much
If I have the time I like to cook but I usually don’t have time 🥲

Hey there 😀

Your initiative rocks! I’m all in because I think it's not just about what we're doing here, but also about taking a breather and rethinking how we handle stress.

1.

I used to stress a ton, but I’m actively working on it because I know it's not good for me. I mean, who wants that constant tension, right? So, I'm all about bringing more calm into my life, dialing down the stress, and only keeping the good kind around.

2.

When I need to unwind, I have my go-to moves. It's all about those comfort TV series or connecting with my family and friends. But hey, it's gotta feel right in the moment, you know? It’s all about that instant pleasure.

3.

Totally with you on this - it’s super personal. We're all wired differently, so finding what chills us out is key. And for those times when stress is sky-high, I've dabbled in relaxation techniques, and they’re legit magic.

I hope you will find it helpful 💪 Feel free to reach out if you have any questions 😉

Good luck everyone 🤗,

Such a nice thread!

I try to destress. In GCSEs I'd always stress revising and thinking what comes next, but yesterday I was stressed morning of exams and the anxiety just built up all day. So when I came home I destressed by watching tv for like 2 hours before getting ready for chem this morning.

Honestly after a long day I sleep or watch tv, just let my mind rest.

I think listening to either happy or calm classical music works. TV can work too. And sleep is best. Depends on how much time you have.
