What will happen if I deliberately miss an exam

A bit of context. I'm sitting my one Sociology exam but not the other due to other factors that the exam board doesn't count as a valid reason. The thing is, I don't like socio at all and I'm practically already failing the class.
I've asked about to see if I could just be taken off the class and the exam because I have no real interest anyways nor do I know any content relevant enough to get a decent grade. I could get an E if I really wanted but nothing more.
I have 2 exams for socio. Will I just get an E overall assuming I'll get a U for missing the second one?
Edit: I have absolutely zero interest in doing a second year for Sociology

The fact that you say that you "have absolutely zero interest in doing a second year for Sociology" suggests that we're talking about an AS level. Is that right? That suggests that you're not studying in England (as AS level exams don't combined with A2 exams to form A levels in England any more). Correct?

If you only turn-up for one paper out of the two, then your overall grade will be established on the assumption that you scored 0 in the second paper. So if the first paper was out of 60 marks and you got 30 marks (50%), then your overall score would be 30 out of 120 marks (25%).

If you're that disinterested in the subject, the exams, taking it next year etc., then why bother turning-up for either exam? If you skipped them both you result would be an X.

(Note that there is a mechanism, called special consideration, which would allow you to be awarded a grade based upon your paper 1 mark only - i.e. 30 out of 60, or 50%, in the example above. However, you would not qualify as you must have missed the second exam "for acceptable reasons" and it requires that "the centre is prepared to support an application for special consideration". Also, for an AS level leading to an A level - which is what it sounds like you're studying - "candidates must be re-entered for any missed units at the next assessment opportunity".)
