Civil Service Direct Appointment Scheme 2024

Just thought I would create this thread for people who have received expression of interest forms for the direct appointment scheme following unsuccessful fast stream applications.

Received my EOI for HEO just over a week ago and sent it back at the weekend. Understand it can be a long process to start receiving an officer though!

Thanks for starting the thread! I received my EOI for EO that I filled out and returned. Waiting on a response now - would be of help to know if anyone has already been matched.

I also received a EOI for HEO roles and responded. How important is the CV to matching do we think?

Based on what I’ve read from previous years, it seems like most candidates were matched with roles outside of their experience. I reckon it’s not that important then?

Received an EOI form and send it back this weekend gone. Will update if I receive anything. Just to let you all know, last year they took just slightly over 2 months to match me with an EO role

What score did you get in the AC if you don’t mind me asking?🌚

Would you mind sharing what EO role were you matched with last year and if it was based on the experience listed within your CV?

I’ve been offered HEO EOI as well. Has anyone been offered the Yorkshire development scheme, wondering what people think of it?!

I'm in the same boat as you. I'm definitely intrigued but would need to find out more at the YDS presentation day. Don't think there's enough information about it out there to make a decision just yet. Have you heard anything back from them since the initial email?

Had an email today saying they’ll be doing a talk on it next week! I think it’s a really interesting prospect but since there’s so little info on it next week will be very interesting. Would be great if it had similar benefits to the fast stream.

Just for anyone wondering if they have already started matching candidates, I have just heard back hearing that the Home Office are interested in a discussion with me. I sent off my HEO EOI on May 9th and wasn’t expecting anything so soon- especially with the election having just been announced! Good luck everyone and hopefully we all hear from them soon

Excellent news! Was this for a particular scheme ie. Project delivery etc?

Same! I was emailed yesterday saying the Home Office was interested in having a discussion with me about an EO role. Sent off my EOI end of April.

That’s great! Would you mind sharing if this role is matched as per your location preferences and the experience on your CV?

They haven’t indicated a specific location yet and I wouldn’t say it’s strongly aligned with my CV, for context I will be graduating with an MSci in Biomedical Science but do have some commercial experience - not sure how much this relates with the Home Office.

I responded to my HEO expression of interest on 4 May. Any idea when they should get in touch?

Hi, congratulations. What was your score and is the role offered to you, in the location and subject area (e.g. policy) you wanted?

My FSAC score was 7.61, and the day after I got the email from the DAS, the Home Office sent me a form to fill in to say my top three location choices, as well as my preferred subject area to make a match as close to my preferences as possible, which would suggest they have plenty of roles available across different areas and locations. Although of course I wouldn't know how it would work with other government departments. In my initial EOI form I had put my location preferences as 'any in England or Scotland' and selected quite a few subject areas in order to keep my options open and not shut down any good opportunities.

Does anyone know if they are still sending out EOI forms, as I have yet to receive one and am wondering if I still have any chance? I got a score of 16.5 in the Project Delivery FSB.
