What is Clearing?

For 2024, the Clearing period will run from 5th July to 21st October, giving you ample time to apply if you don't already have an offer from a university or if the course you're interested in still has available places.

To be eligible for Clearing, you need to meet certain criteria, which include:
•Not having received any offers or not accepting the offers you received
•Not meeting the conditions of your existing offers
•Paying the multiple-choice application fee of £27.50
•Declining your firm place

You can find specific information about Clearing on the University of the Arts London website

Hello,
Who all can I apply and is it accepted in all the colleges at UAL?

Hi,

It is based on availability of spots on the particular courses and colleges. Once you start UCAS Extra process you can check what is still available.

"UCAS Extra is a free service that allows you to apply for undergraduate courses, if you've already used up your original 5 choices."

"UCAS Extra can be used by both UK and international students."

I hope this helps,
Weronika

Hi,

I am afraid it depends on the case to case basis and the specific program. From what I remember in the past it was around a month for me, but I heard all sorts of options. If you are concerned I advice contacting the admissions team for an update.

Good luck,
Weronika

I applied the week after clearing opened and have already gotten an offer. So anything between a month or so. This was for LCC btw.
When will I hear back from Graphic Design Communication Chelsea College of arts? Taking forever.
Hi, I applied for architecture through clearing a while back and haven't heard back a response yet. I checked the page recently for architecture and it days they are no longer accepting applications. Does this mean they ran out of spaces and I should assume I've been rejected or not?

Honestly idk. I find Ual communication time is very slow. Same with GDC and I applied like 2 weeks ago, only to find there's no more spaces. When did you see that there's no spaces? If its between Aug 9th friday and 15th Thursday, you're fine. Because it's embargo mode(they are processing grades).During this time they can't discuss any details about your application. So we all need to wait after tomorrow to get offers.
Wish you goodluck and you get an offer.
Also after 8 am tomorrow, you can email clearing or admissions to ask about your application status and they can discuss it.

Thanks for clarifying, I just got confused because other courses from the same uni don't have this status so it made me think this particular course is filled.

No worries. It's just there so no new people apply for the course. Have you heard back yet for architecture? I have for Graphic design. Had to chase them up.
Here's clearing number so you can ask about your status 02075147514 or you can "live chat" them on the UAL website.
(If you haven't heard back)

Hi, I applied to UAL through UCAS Clearing and was asked to upload my passport, English language certificate, and qualification documents on the UAL portal. However, I haven't received an offer yet. Does this request suggest that I might receive an offer, or is it just part of the standard verification process?
